"Fritz"

Fred,

Thought you would like to see how Fritz is doing. He is doing great. He is all mature, but just enough puppy in him to make things interesting. He has his own unique personality.

We love him very much. He and our other dog, Jaeger, get along very well. They keep each other in good physical shape.

He survived his first Iowa winter very well. We had snow much higher than he was in December, but he learned the snow was not as deep under trees. We have a fenced in backyard, and it is fun to see him and Jaeger running and playing. He doesn't like the vacuum cleaner inside and the lawn mower outside. Fortunately, he hides and doesn't attack.

Fritz is a keeper.

Regards,

Fred,

Thought you might like to have a three week update. Fritz is doing fine here in Iowa. Other than throwing up about 5 miles from your place, our ride back to Iowa was uneventful. I learned from that experience to withhold food in the morning until we got back to Iowa on Monday.

He is fitting in quite well. He and his new brother, Jaeger, are getting along just fine. Sometimes he chases Jaeger, sometimes Jaeger chases him. House training is going well. He seems to know he is supposed to do his business outside, but hasn't figured out how to tell us. We watch for signals and get him outside pronto. No inside messes in three days now.

He has always slept through the night. He sleeps in a wire crate and seems to like it and the security it affords. We have a larger one downstairs we keep both dogs when we are out. They take to it well. Fritz even takes naps in it on his own.

He is learning how to enjoy evening walks. The first day or so were quite challenging. However, he trots along with Jaeger and seems to enjoy it. I'll tell you, walking two dogs at once is quite a challenge. It is kind of like water sking, once you are up and going, it is OK.

Our vet gave him an all OK decision. He was very impressed with your medical records on Fritz. We have noticed his wheaten overcoat is really growing. In certain light, he looks almost blonde. I wonder if it will, in time, cover over the red. What do you think?

In summary, we are very happy with Fritz and it appears Fritz is happy in his new home. Thought you would like to know.
